AUSTIN — A 24-year-old Baytown man has been found guilty of manslaughter and aggravated assault in connection with an alcohol-related boating accident on Memorial Day weekend two years ago.

AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has approved for public comment a proposal to require that all boats operating on all public fresh water in Texas be drained after use to help combat the further spread of zebra mussels.
AUSTIN— Texas Game Warden Michelle Mount has been named Officer of the Year by the Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (SEAFWA).

Victoria — On February 11 and 12, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) game wardens are providing officer water survival (OWS) training in advance of the spring and summer water safety season. This training is part of the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) Boat Operations and Training (BOAT) Program catalog of nationally credentialed courses.
WACO — Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is hosting the first Comprehensive Boat Accident Investigation course of 2014. This course provided by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) funded through a United States Coast Guard grant brings 60 law enforcement officers from all across the United States to one location to train on special techniques for investigating boating accidents.
AUSTIN – In the state’s ongoing effort to combat the spread of invasive zebra mussels, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission Thursday approved expanding rules requiring anyone leaving or approaching public waters in 30 counties in Central and North Texas to drain their boats.
