TEAGUE — Texas game wardens, with assistance from local and state officers, have arrested a suspect in the injury of two game wardens following a pursuit early Saturday. The arrest was made about two miles southeast of Teague in Freestone County at 3:15 p.m. today.
AUSTIN — For the first time in their history, Texas Game Wardens have a full-time, statewide canine team.

ATHENS— Zebra mussels, a destructive invasive species that originated in Eurasia, have been found in Lake Belton in Central Texas.
AUSTIN – Today in Austin, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) honored the local law enforcement community for its work in enforcement of Texas’ intoxication laws. Texas Game Warden Theron Oatman received the Commitment Hero Award and Game Warden Capt. Scott Jurk received the Diamond Hero Leadership Award for their efforts in enforcing Boating While Intoxicated (BWI) and Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) laws on Lake Travis and Lake Austin.
