Defendant Pleads Guilty in 9-Year-Old Boating Fatality

BURNET – Travis Aaron Marburger has pleaded guilty in 33rd Judicial District Court to a third-degree felony charge of failure to stop and render aid involving a fatal accident, ending a nine-year-old case that began with a 2002 boat crash on Lake Buchanan that claimed a Lampasas teenager’s life and injured two others.

Boater Ed Now Required for Operators Born After Sept. 1, 1993

AUSTIN – Anyone looking forward to operating a motor-powered vessel, sailboat or personal water craft on Texas public waters this year needs to have completed a state-approved boater education course if born after Sept. 1, 1993.

Second Texas Paddling Trail to Open in Seguin

SEGUIN – The 34th Texas Paddling Trail and second in Seguin will open on Wednesday, Dec. 7, along a scenic stretch of the Guadalupe River. City officials and representatives of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will gather at the River Shade RV Park for a 4:30 p.m. dedication of the Seguin Paddling Trail (Lake Nolte/Meadow Lake).
