AUSTIN – Texas Parks & Wildlife Inland Fisheries Division personnel have been waging environmentally safe chemical warfare in North Texas against a formidable invader – zebra mussels.

Guadalupe Valley Paddling Trail Opens Oct. 1

CUERO – A dedication ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. this Friday on the banks of the Guadalupe River to commemorate the opening of the newest Texas Paddling Trail on the Guadalupe River in DeWitt County. The Guadalupe Valley Paddling Trail marks the 21st entry into the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s paddling trail program.

TPWD Proposes List of Approved Exotic Aquatic Plants, Permitted Algae

AUSTIN – Aquatic plants offer both beauty and functionality in landscaping and aquaria, and the use of algae to produce biofuels has recently received increased attention. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department wants to ensure the introduction of any non-native aquatic plants, including algae will not harm the state’s natural resources.

TPWD Set to Graduate 41 New Game Wardens

AUSTIN – After seven months of training in everything from water rescue and state-federal law to alligator handling, the 41 cadets of the 55th Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Game Warden class will close one chapter of their lives and start a new one with their graduation Tuesday as state game wardens.
