AUSTIN – Just in time for fall hunting season, the Operation Game Thief wildlife crimestoppers program has a new tool expected to increase the number of tips received as well as game law violation convictions.
CONROE—With the Professional Anglers Association Angler of the Year race over, Toyota Texas Bass Classic tournament officials are proud to release the final field. The final group of qualifiers comes from the 2012 Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series Presented by Carrot Stix Angler of the Year race, along with four sponsor exemptions. Notable contenders include Angler of the Year Gary Clouse and 2010 TTTBC champion Brian Snowden. The Toyota Texas Bass Classic will take place Sept. 28-30 at the Lone Star Convention & Expo in Conroe.
Austin – Grab the kids and text your friends: Falls Fest 2012 is Oct. 13 from 10-4 at McKinney Falls State Park. Activities were announced this week for the annual festival which is free after park admission and open to the public.

AUSTIN – A new series of Eat Local: Cooking Texas Style videos from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) feature Chef Jesse Griffiths, who is also leading Central Market Cooking School classes this fall in Austin, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Southlake. The classes will feature TPWD experts on hand to answer questions about hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

ATHENS—The Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) is proud to welcome back the ShareLunker Club Tournament (SCT) on Lake Conroe, Oct. 1–21, 2012. Once again, members will have the opportunity to compete for $100,000, and this year, participants will also be competing against the world’s top anglers.
ATHENS—Halloween at the Hatchery takes place at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center (TFFC) October 25, and local businesses and organizations are invited to take part.
