2018 Texas State-Fish Art Contest Winners Announced

ATHENS— The 2018 Texas Division of the Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art Contest first place winners include Juliann Dooley of Warren for grades 10-12, Madeleine Alexander of Keller for grades 7-9, Lauren Yue of Coppell for grades 4-6, and Sanjitha Yeruva of Irving for grades K-3.

Texas Game Wardens Target Illegal Commercial Fishing Activity at Texas/Mexico Port of Entry

AUSTIN – Texas game wardens recently wrapped up a crackdown on illegal commercial fishing trade along the Texas-Mexico border in the Rio Grande Valley, citing nearly two dozen retail fish dealers for a variety of seafood industry related violations.

AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is hosting a TPWD Outdoor Adventures Area May 19-20 by Lake Travis at Jones Brothers Park in Jonestown. At this event visitors of all ages can try fishing, archery and other fun outdoor activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. completely free.

AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is closing TX-25 in San Antonio Bay to commercial and recreational oyster harvest beginning Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

Texas Game Wardens Crack Down on Illegal Fish Trade in Houston Markets, Restaurants

AUSTIN — State game wardens issued more than 150 citations to 19 fish markets and restaurants in the Houston area that illegally purchased game fish from undercover officers during a recently completed sting conducted by the Special Operations unit of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Law Enforcement Division.
