AUSTIN –Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) fisheries biologists and local partners took advantage of the temporary drawdown of Inks Lake to restore fish habitat and enhance fishing opportunities at the Inks Lake State Park fishing piers Thursday, Feb. 8.
ATHENS – The Fly Fish Texas Expo is back for the 18th year with a jam-packed day of activities, classes, demonstrations and vendors 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center. And it’s all free with the cost of admission to the TFFC.

ATHENS – The Texas Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame committee announced Shannon Tompkins, a reporter and columnist at the Houston Chronicle; and the Lake Fork Sportsman’s Association (LFSA), an organization that works to protect and promote Lake Fork’s natural resources, will be inducted into the hall of fame in 2018.
AUSTIN – With the launch of the new year-round participation season Jan. 1, the Toyota ShareLunker Program is debuting a new website and mobile app to facilitate entries and provide anglers with news and updates.
AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has issued a temporary closure to saltwater fishing along parts of the Texas coast to protect resources during freezing weather conditions. The closure takes effect at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2 and extends through 10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018.
