DAINGERFIELD, TX—More than 500 visitors entered the gate to celebrate the grand reopening and ceremonial ribbon cutting of Daingerfield State Park, set in the backdrop of northeast Texas’ Pineywoods autumn landscape.
BASTROP – The Dallas-based Meadows Foundation is making $850,000 available to help with the recovery effort in the aftermath of the devastating Bastrop County wildfire that burned much of Bastrop State Park.

DAINGERFIELD – One of Texas’ oldest state parks, closed for almost a year for $5 million in capital improvements, has been born anew and will host a free grand reopening on Saturday, Oct. 15.

If you took a tour out at Enchanted Rock this summer it’s likely you were lead by Texas Parks and Wildlife intern Stephanie Croatt. Did you see graffiti in one of the area’s caves? Odds are you didn’t, Croatt cleaned that off while taking a break from giving flint knapping lessons and creating outlines for guided interpretation park tours. Croatt graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio this spring and took her internship out in Fredericksburg to get practical experience in the Texas parks system.
