ATHENS, Texas- El 2 de mayo la ciudad de Athens celebrará el Cinco de Mayo con una fiesta en Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, el Centro de la Pesca en Agua Dulce de Texas (TFFC por sus siglos en ingles). Situado 75 millas al sureste de Dallas, el centro ofrece una gran fiesta de comida, música, y baile, además de todas las actividades tradicionales del TFFC, tales como la pesca, giras de tranvía, y espectáculos de submarinistas.

Prolonged Texas Drought Impacts Wildlife

AUSTIN, Texas — Despite welcome rains in late March, much of Texas remains parched by prolonged drought of historic proportions, and wildlife die-offs of whooping cranes and deer have been reported. However, experts say native wildlife evolved to bounce back from drought, and a bigger issue is how human water use is changing the equation, and how drought underscores the need for water planning and conservation.
