CANYON— A new camping area with amenities and a series of bridges across flash-flooding hazards on park roadways at Palo Duro Canyon State Park were unveiled Thursday morning during an event highlighting completion of a joint project between the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
ATHENS— Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center (TFFC) in Athens with a day of outdoor activities and free admission Saturday, Nov. 19.

AUSTIN— Palo Duro Canyon State Park superintendent Shannon Blalock will be awarded the Outstanding Management award by the State Agency Council to the Governor’s Commission of Women at their awards ceremony at the Radisson Hotel & Suites in Austin on Sept. 15.
