AUSTIN— Torrential storms that have continued to hammer much of the state for more than a week now are leaving their mark on Texas’ State Park system. As of Wednesday, more than 50 state parks report some damage as a result of significant rainfall; about half those sites are currently either closed or partially closed to the public due to flooding.
AUSTIN — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission on Thursday approved $2.38 million in federal grants for 17 recreational trail projects across the state.
AUSTIN — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has approved a 690-acre land acquisition that increases the size of Mustang Island State Park near Corpus Christi to 4,783 acres. In addition, the commission agreed to accept a 100-acre conservation easement donation adjacent to the park.

AUSTIN – The 19th annual Great Texas Birding Classic is kicking off this Wednesday, April 15, with a bang! HOUSTON — The largest battle re-enactment in the Southwest highlights the annual San Jacinto Day Festival to be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, April 18, at San Jacinto Battlegrounds State Historic Site in La Porte.
