Searchers Find Woman Lost at Big Bend Ranch State Park

BIG BEND RANCH STATE PARK – A 43-year-old woman who had been lost in the 300,000-acre Big Bend Ranch State Park for more than four days with little water and no food has been located by a search and rescue team made up of State Park police officers, Texas game wardens, other game wardens assigned to the newly created Game Warden SAR Team, and volunteer TX SAR members. The rescue occurred shortly after noon Sunday.

Bluegill Tournament Announces Winners

ATHENS—A record 59 teams entered the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center’s annual Bluegill Family Fishing Tournament September 28, and 26 teams went away with prizes. Every team received a goodie bag.

Coalition Extends Drought Photo Campaign, Asks Texans to Document Conservation, Positive Drought Response

AUSTIN — A the coalition of three state agencies has extended through October their “What does your Texas drought look like?” statewide photo project, which has already has received hundreds of compelling photographs documenting the devastation caused by the ongoing drought. And the coalition is now asking Texans to share photos showing the other side of the drought, by documenting innovative water conservation methods and positive drought responses.
