GALVESTON- The Deepwater Horizon Natural Resources Damage (NRDA) Trustee Texas Implementation Group (TIG) will hold a public meeting Oct. 15 on the Texas A&M University campus in Galveston.

The TIG will provide an update on the work accomplished since the historic settlement with BP. The presentation will highlight ongoing restoration projects and address plans for future efforts. In addition, an open house will be hosted prior to the meeting. The open house is meant to offer the public an opportunity to discuss with agency staff restoration projects for the natural resources impacted by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The meeting will open with a brief presentation about the basics of the NRDA process followed by information describing future opportunities for public engagement in our restoration activities. The TIG will also highlight a few restorations projects already underway. Following the formal presentation there will be an opportunity for the public to provide feedback.

Details regarding the public meeting are below. All presentations will be posted on online after the meeting at http://www.gulfspillrestoration.noaa.gov/restoration-areas/texas.
