La Tradición de Texas de Reabastecer con Trucha Arcoíris Inicia el 24 de Noviembre

AUSTIN — Noviembre es el mes para dar gracias, pero en Texas, este mes también marca el inicio de la tradición de invierno para los pescadores de todas las edades en todo el estado.  El Departamento de Parques y Vida Silvestre de Texas iniciará esta tradición cuando empiece el reabastecimiento con miles de peces trucha arcoíris el 24 de noviembre.  La trucha arcoíris es muy fácil de pescar y es deliciosa como platillo, se le puede encontrar en los menús de muchos restaurantes.

Greet the Holiday Season at a Texas State Park, THC Historic Site

AUSTIN— Texas State Parks and the Texas Historical Commission are hosting their biggest holiday season yet with more than 80 unique holiday events happening across the state. Starting this Saturday, Nov. 20, 47 Texas State Parks and eight State Historic Sites are presenting themed guided walks, scavenger hunts and more.

Lubbock Area Game Wardens Organizing for Mule Deer Saturation Patrol

LUBBOCK —Between Nov. 20 and 28, Lubbock area game wardens will dedicate extra patrol hours and state resources to the mule deer hunting season.

Texas Winter Tradition of Rainbow Trout Stocking Begins Nov. 24

AUSTIN – November is known as a time to give thanks, but in Texas the month also marks the beginning of a winter tradition for anglers of all ages across the state. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will kick off this tradition when it begins stocking thousands of rainbow trout Nov. 24. The easy to catch rainbow trout are delicious table fare and can be found on many restaurant menus.

TPWD Announces Grants to Enhance Angler Access, Fish Habitat

AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) Inland Fisheries Division has selected 21 projects to be supported by the new Habitat and Angler Access Program (HAAP). The program, which launched in June 2021, is primarily funded by the purchase of freshwater fishing licenses.

New Artificial Reefs, Habitat Structures Installed on Belton Lake

BELTON – Anglers have more spots to search for the perfect catch at Belton Lake thanks to some recently installed artificial reefs and habitat structures. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) Waco and Forth Worth Inland Fisheries Districts partnered with multiple organizations and volunteers to complete the project which will significantly enhance the fishery.

Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Texas Trustees Holding Annual Public Meeting December 1

AUSTIN – The Texas Trustee Implementation Group will hold its annual public meeting via a webinar at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1. This meeting will provide an update on Texas Restoration Area plans, projects and activities. Attendees may submit questions as part of the webinar registration process and during the webinar via the chat function. The webinar is open to the public.
