AMARILLO – Due to historic flooding along the Canadian River last week, the Potter County Sheriff’s Office requested that Texas Game Wardens assist with swift-water search and rescue needs.

TFFC Hosts First Deaf Day and Picnic Event April 15

ATHENS — The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center (TFFC) is pleased to announce a brand-new, daylong event on Saturday, April 15. The first-ever Deaf Day and Picnic at the TFFC will run during the center’s regular hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) with a variety of family-friendly activities. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic, try their hand at fishing with loaner gear provided by TFFC and enjoy a fun spring day.

Wilbarger, Montgomery County Game Wardens Honored for Going the Extra Mile

AUSTIN- Texas Game Wardens Dyke McMahen and Brannon Meinkowsky were presented yesterday  with separate awards as Shikar Safari Officer of the Year and the Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife’s Officer of the Year, respectively, by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission. Nominated by their supervisors for outstanding service in the line of duty, both officers share a passion for conservation, youth outreach and criminal investigation.
