2016 Official Rules
  1. To Enter the “WIN YOUR DREAM YEAR OUTDOORS” (“the Drawing”) you must:
    1. Agree to the Official Rules stated herein;
    2. Complete all required entry fields provided on the Drawing entry form (located online at www.tpwd.texas.gov/DreamYear) during the drawing entry period. Limit: one (1) entry per person and per email address;
    3. Possess an annual resident hunting, annual resident fishing, annual resident combo, or resident lifetime license noted below that is valid through at least November 30, 2016. See TPWD's Online License Information for a description. License items: 101; 102; 111; 117; 231; 232; 233; 234; 235; 236; 237; 244; 502; 503; 504; 505; 506; 507; 508; 510; 511; 512; 980; 981; 982; 990; 991; 992;
    4. Provide a valid and accurate customer ID number (customer ID number will be used to confirm valid license holding);
    5. Provide a valid and accurate email address (winners will only be notified by email); and
    6. Opt-in to receive Hunting email updates (Hunt Texas e-newsletter, Hunting Updates, Hunting Offers & Promotions) AND/OR Fishing email updates (Fish Texas e-newsletter, Fishing Updates, Fishing Offers & Promotions) from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
  2. All employees of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Gordon-Darby and the Drawing sponsor(s), their affiliates, sales representatives, licensees or agents, and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses), are NOT ELIGIBLE to enter/win.
  3. Only one (1) entry allowed per valid customer ID number.
  4. The Drawing entry period begins at 12:01 a.m. central time on August 15, 2016 and ends at 11:59 p.m. central time on November 30, 2016. Winners will be selected from entries properly submitted during this time period. Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Drawing entry period.
  5. “WIN YOUR DREAM YEAR OUTDOORS” Drawing includes the following prize packages:
    1. Grand Prize Package (1 available)– (Total Fair Market Value: $7,293)
      1. A guided dove hunting trip for winner and guest, including food, one night's lodging and transportation at the site, provided by the Texas Dove Hunters Association;
      2. A guided bass fishing trip for winner and guest with Cabela's Pro Staff Ambassadors Wade Middleton (host of Cabela's Fisherman's Handbook) and Clark Wendlandt (host of Fishing Texas), to be filmed and shown nationally. Lodging for two nights for two persons at La Quinta Inns and Suites;
      3. $1,000 Cabela's gift card;
      4. A guided bay fishing trip for winner and guest provided by the Coastal Conservation Association. Lodging for one night for two persons at nearby hotel;
      5. A guided freshwater fishing trip for catfish or striper on Lake Tawakoni for winner and guest. Lodging for two nights for two persons at La Quinta Inns and Suites;
      6. Franchi Instinct L Shotgun;
      7. $500 in Cabela's fishing gear;
      8. $500 in Cabela's hunting gear;
      9. “Coastal biologist for a Day” trip for winner and guest. Lodging for two nights for two persons at La Quinta Inns and Suites;
      10. Four 1-night room vouchers La Quinta Inns and Suites;
      11. Super Combo License Valid for License Year 2018; and
      12. Devils River kayak fishing trip with TPWD biologists for winner and guest, including food and lodging at the Devil's River State Natural Area.
    2. Runner-Up Prize Packages (3 available) – (Total Fair Market Value: $511)
      1. $300 Cabela's gift card;
      2. Cabela's Polar Cap Cooler 25 QT; and
      3. 1-year subscription to Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine.
  6. As part of the Grand Prize Package, applicable federal income taxes associated with this drawing's grand prize winnings are included as part of the prize package and will be paid on the behalf of the winner by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. In accordance with the Internal Revenue Service, the Grand Prize winner will be required to file appropriate income tax forms as part of their personal tax return. Winners of the three Runner-Up Prizes Package will be responsible for reporting and paying any applicable income taxes and should consult their tax professional for how this will impact one's personal tax situation.
  7. Selection of winners:
    1. One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected in a random drawing to be held on December 1, 2016 to receive one (1) grand prize package. If this winner is disqualified for any reason, another random drawing will be held as soon as possible to select the Grand Prize Winner.
    2. After the Grand Prize Winner has accepts the prize package, three (3) Runner-Up Prize Winners will be selected in three separate, random drawings within no more than ten (10) business days following the selection of the grand prize winner. Each Runner-Up Prize winner will receive only one (1) Runner-Up prize package.
  8. Winners will be notified via e-mail to the e-mail address provided on the Drawing entry form within one week following the entry deadline. It is recommended that drawing participants add tpwd@service.govdelivery.com to their email contacts to aid deliverability of messages from Texas Parks and Wildlife. A winner has ten (10) business days after successful delivery of the winner's notification to respond to TPWD and accept/claim the prize package, otherwise it will be offered to the next alternate selected in the drawing. After the winner accepts/claims the prize package, their contact information will be provided to the Drawing prize providers, so that they may coordinate directly with the winner.
  9. At the sole discretion of TPWD, disqualification, forfeiture and the selection of an alternate winner may result from any of the following: (1) a potential winner's failure to respond to email notification within ten (10) business days after its transmission; (2) the return of an email notification as undeliverable after three (3) attempts; (3) a potential winner's failure to provide satisfactory proof of identity and residency; (4) a potential winner's failure or their guest's failure to execute and return any requested disclaimer of liability and release, or agreement to indemnity and hold harmless within seven (7) days after its transmission; and (5) any other non-compliance with the Official Rules.
  10. The email addresses collected through the drawing are protected from public disclosure under the provisions of Government Code, §552.137.
  11. If the entrant chooses to opt-in to emails from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) they understand that they are choosing to have their email address provided to this third party. Opting-in for emails from TPWF is not a requirement of the drawing.
  12. As a condition of entry into the Drawing, except where prohibited by law, each winner grants Texas Parks and Wildlife Department a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license and right, to publicize, broadcast, display and/or otherwise use the winner's name, city, state and biographical material (collectively, "Licensed Rights") for TPWD purposes in any media now known or hereafter devised for advertising and publicity purposes, without additional review, compensation, permission or approval.
  13. Any other expenses related to accepting and/or using a prize not listed in these rules, including travel to/from the prize and meals (where not included), are the sole responsibility of each winner.
  14. Winners must be 17 years of age or older at the time of the drawing.
  15. Winnings are non-transferable and may only be accepted in their entirety. The grand prize winner is under no obligation to use any or all of the trip prizes though they will forfeit all trip prizes that have not been taken by August 1, 2017. Trips can only be taken if the grand prize winner is and remains present.
  16. By entering the drawing and/or by accepting any prizes, each entrant and/or accompanying guest hereby release and hold harmless the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, drawing sponsor(s), drawing prize provider(s), and any of their commissioners, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents and representatives from and against any and all liabilities, costs, expenses, claims, and damages for which the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, drawing sponsor(s), and/or drawing prize provider(s) might otherwise become liable by reason of any accidents, or injuries to or death of any persons, or damage to property, or both, in any manner arising or resulting from, caused by, connected with or related to entering the drawing and/or accepting any prizes, regardless of how, where, or when such injury, death or damage occurs even if caused by the negligence of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, drawing sponsor(s), and/or drawing prize provider(s). If the Grand Prize winner holds a valid 980-Lifetime Combo license, then no 2018 Super Combo will be issued. If the winner holds a valid 981-Lifetime Hunting or 982-Lifetime Fishing the agency will not issue a 2018 Super Combo, but will issue the appropriate annual 2018 license and endorsements to be equivalent to the Super Combo when combined with the existing Lifetime license. If the winner holds a valid 237-Year From Purchase the agency will cancelled the license and issue the 2018 Super Combo license.
  17. TPWD will contact the Grand Prize Winner on or after August 15, 2017 to issue the 2018 Super * Combo license. This license cannot be acquired through retail agents.
