Public Multiple-Occupancy Private Space Policy

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish clear guidelines for the use of multi-occupancy public restrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms, and shower rooms (“multi-occupancy private spaces”) in accordance with our commitment to maintain a respectful environment to ensure privacy, safety, and compliance with building requirements.

Policy

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department maintains multi-occupancy private spaces for visitors and employees. All of these facilities are clearly designated as “Men’s”, “Women’s”, or “Family”. Except when using a Family-designated space, an individual is expected to use the appropriate space corresponding with his or her biological sex.

This policy will be periodically reviewed, as necessary.
