Go on a scavenger hunt to discover the tiny creatures at work on the forest floor!
Come explore the habitat that's right underneath your feet in the Pineywoods of Atlanta State Park. Meet some of our smallest residents that have very important, unseen jobs in their habitat. Go on a scavenger hunt on our trails to find some of these creatures and win a prize for finding at least 4 of them.
When: 10:00 am
Where: Volksmarch Trail Head
What to Bring: Water, sunscreen/hat/sunglasses, bug spray.
Accessibility: Path to program is concrete sidewalk and dirt path/grass. Parking and restrooms are located in the program area.
Atlanta State Park has one all-terrain wheelchair available for visitor use at no additional charge. Please contact park headquarters to check availability at (903) 796-6476.
Cost: Free with paid park admission ($3 for per person 13 and older; 12 and under are free) or with a Texas State Parks Pass.
