Herp Hike

Join a ranger on a hike to find some of our hopping and slithering friends!
Accessibility: Parking will be available at Knights Bluff. Restroom is available nearby. Drinking water is available at nearby spigot. Path to program is pavement and concrete sidewalk. Path during program is sand/dirt/gravel with various trip and other hazards.
Program Expectations: PARK WILL BE DARK. Program will consist of a brief hike and presentation about some amphibians and reptiles inside the park led by a park ranger. Headlamps and flashlights will be available for use if you do not have your own. Please do not bring SUPER BRIGHT white lights. This will negatively affect participants' experiences. *Some wildlife becomes more active at night. While this is great for experience, safety precautions are at a high. Snakes, skunks, raccoons, coyotes, bobcats, biting insects, tripping, and many other hazards may present themselves during the program. Please stay with the ranger at all times if you are not familiar with these hazards.*

Program is included in park entry fees- $3 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. No need to register, just show up! Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Atlanta State Park Facebook page or you can call park headquarters.
