Mothing: An Insect Extravaganza!

See what comes out at night during this park after dark program!
A ranger will attract insects to the area using UV lighting and a white backdrop. What night visitors will we find? Rangers will use iNaturalist to identify and record insects.
THE PARK WILL BE DARK
*Some wildlife becomes more active at night. While this is great for experience, safety precautions are at a high. Snakes, skunks, raccoons, coyotes, bobcats, biting insects, tripping, and many other hazards may present themselves during the program. Please stay with the ranger at all times if you are not familiar with these hazards.*

Accessibility: Path to program is pavement, concrete sidewalk and grass. Parking and restrooms are in the program area.
Atlanta State Park has one all-terrain wheelchair available for visitor use at no additional charge. Please contact park headquarters to check availability at (903) 796-6476.
Cost: Free with paid park admission ($3 for per person 13 and older; 12 and under are free) or with a Texas State Parks Pass.
