Learn about the wild wonders of Atlanta State Park!

Explore our hiking trails with a ranger and see what you can discover along the way. We’ll provide an illustrated scavenger hunt of things you’re likely to encounter in the park. You’ll learn how to identify different plants and help the ranger keep an eye out for birds and insects. The best part about a walk in the woods is you never know what you might find. If you’re a curious critter, this is the perfect hike for asking questions about whatever is waiting on the trail.

Trail distance is approximately 0.8 mile (1.3 km) and covers the Arrowhead Trail. Terrain is relatively flat, but ground is uneven or sandy in places.

Where: Meet at Arrowhead Trailhead.

Bring: Drinking water, closed toe-shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, and weather appropriate clothing.

Cost: Free with paid park admission ($3 for per person 13 and older; 12 and under are free) or with a Texas State Parks Pass.
