All is merry and bright for the Geminid meteor shower!

Everyone is a fan of a summer night at Balmorhea, but have you ever spent a winter night?

Witness the peak of the Geminid meteor shower on a backdrop of stars we don't get to see during our summer night sky programs! Grab a free hot cocoa and some cookies and settle in to watch dozens of meteors per hour. 

We'll take a look through our telescope and tell the stories about the pantheons and planets beyond. This isn't your average star party...

So slow down, lean back, look up, and join us for this Cosmic Christmas display!

• Bring: A blanket or chair to lay back on, a red light flashlight (if possible), and plenty of warm clothing
• Meets: In the pool area. Please park with headlights facing away from the pool and follow the red lights to the telescope
