Time: 9 PM.
Where: The E. Contrabando Trailhead. Located on FM 170, approximately 0.25 miles east of the Barton Warnock Visitor Center and 50 miles east of Fort Leaton SHS.
What to expect: We will undertake a 2-mile loop of a section of the east contrabando. The trail is rated as an easy hike with approximately 100 ft of elevation gain. Conditions along the trail range from rocky to sandy.
Bring:
- Red lights (to preserve night vision)
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Closed-toed shoes
- Water
- Bug spray
Cost: This event is free with park admission, $5 per person 13 and older. Park Admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.
After Hour Passes: You can reserve your pass online here. If you do not reserve your day pass in advance online, you will need to come with exact change or your Texas State Parks Pass to fill out a self-pay envelope in the parking lot of the Barton Warnock Visitor Center or Fort Leaton State Historic Site.
