Little Hike - Guided Bird Walk

Join the Bastrop Audubon Society and Bird City Bastrop for a little hike with expert birders at Bastrop State Park!

Bird City Bastrop and Bastrop Audubon will be leading a little hike on the paved Tree Army Trails!

Learn the basics to birding and see how many birds we can identify while hiking through the park!

Expert birders will lead the way along the paved trails, point out birds, identify them, and share how to identify the birds.

There will be binoculars you can borrow on a first come first served basis.

Experts will teach you how to properly use binoculars if you haven't used them before.

All ages are welcome to attend!

When: Friday, March 14 - 8:30am to 10am
Meet: Outside the Historic Golf Shelter

There are no restrooms available at the meeting location. Please use the restrooms at Headquarters or either campsite loop before arriving. Piney Hill camp loop restroom near the playground will be the closest restroom besides the HQ restroom.

Please wear closed toe shoes, bring bottled water, weather appropriate clothing, sun protection, and bring binoculars if you have them.

Entrance fee for this program is waived only during program time. If you plan to hike trails, play on the playground, or drive through the park after the program, you will need to purchase a day use park pass. Day use fees are $5 per adult ages 13 and up. Children 12 and under are free.
