Hawk Daze

Wind down the spring migration season with four full days of hawk themed presentations and activities. Join us on the Hawk Tower from 9am - 11am to experience the hawk count for yourself. Then stick around for an assortment of talks and activities featuring our wild raptors!

This weeklong special event includes guided walks, guest speakers, and family programs all about raptors and spring migration. 

Birds of prey are important indicators of environmental well-being.  Bentsen's annual Hawk Watch contributes to Hawk Count, a long-term study monitoring raptor population trends and the largest standardized raptor migration network in the world. Hawk count is a project of the Hawk Migration Association of North America. 

• Bring: Water, binoculars if you have them
• Meet: Headquarters, tram turnaround

• Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE 12 & under (Park entry free with Texas State Park Pass.).
