Join a ranger for some First Day Fishing on the Blanco! No fishing license required! Cast away 2025 and reel in the New Year at Blanco State Park.
Never fished before? No worries! We’ll cover all the basics—from knot tying to fish handling. Or just borrow a rod and find your perfect spot to fish!

Meet: Next to the kayak Launch.
Wear: Weather appropriate clothing.
Bring: your own gear and bait if you choose. We will have some gear and bait available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cost: Free with park admission. Adults: $5 and children 12 & under: Free
