Kayaking 101

Registration required - reserve your kayak today!
This class is designed to prepare you for your own kayaking adventure. No experience or equipment is necessary; the park provides kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. You are welcome to bring your own kayak. Life jackets will be worn by all participants. If you bring your own, it must be Coast Guard approved.
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED for participation if reserving a kayak. Reserve your kayak today, space is limited. Contact Kenton Brake by email Kenton.brake@tpwd.texas.gov or by phone (830) 392-6492, or call the park office (830) 833-4333 to register.
Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult (18+) in our double kayak.
Meet at the Kayak Launch at 8:50 am
Bring: Water, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses. Water shoes recommended.
Cost: Park programs are open to the public and free with a paid park entrance fee of $5 per person ages 13 and up; children 12 and under are always free! Park entry is free with the Texas State Park Pass.
