Learn how to cast a line at Buescher Lake!

Join a Ranger and certified Angler Education volunteers at Buescher Lake to cast a line! We'll provide the fishing poles if you need to borrow one and the bait (limited availability on a first come first served basis)! Learn about the fish we have in the lake, our fishing regulations and how to safely cast! 

You don't need a fishing license to fish in a Texas State Park, you just need to have a valid Park Day Use Permit! 

We've got 5 fishing poles to use during the event so this is a first come, first served program. 

Meet at the Canoe Launch/Fishing area. 

Bring: Bottled water, weather appropriate clothing (it will still be hot out!), a folding chair to sit by the shoreline with, and bug spray. 

Program is free after park entrance fee is paid. Park entrance fee is $5 per adult, children 12 and under are free. Park headquarters closes at 4:30pm, if you arrive after hours you will need to pay for your entrance fee at the kiosk located outside of headquarters with cash or check. Follow the after hours permit directions to fill out the form correctly. We will be checking at the parking lot to make sure everyone has a permit.
