Peering at Perseids

The Perseids are peaking on the 12th and 13th, join us for a watch party!

Join us for a program underneath the stars! Learn about the Perseids meteor shower and hear some star stories as we watch for meteors passing by.

Please park at the playground parking area and then walk over to the group picnic area (fishing and picnic area with the concrete tower. This area is located on the dirt road. Not the canoe barn/launch fishing area that is paved.)

If you'd like to use a flashlight on your walk over, please use a red light flashlight so that everyone can get their night vision adjusted safely.

You will need a valid day pass entry so make sure you get one while the park headquarters building is open from 8:00am to 4:30pm or use the self-pay station outside of the HQ building. Valid entry permits on cars will be checked.
Even annual pass holders need a valid day pass entry, if you are arriving after hours, use the self-pay station and enter your annual pass identification number into the correct area to waive the entrance fee.

This program is weather dependent and may be cancelled due to cloud cover or inclement weather.

The park closes to all day pass holders at 10pm. The program will end at 9:45 so that all day pass holders can be out of the park by 10pm.

This program is free after park entrance fee is paid. $5 per adult. Kids 12 and under are free.
