Paddling Tour (BYOKayak)

Enjoy the beauty and mystery of Caddo Lake with a ranger through the ~9 mile paddling trail Hell's Half Acre!
Accessibility: Parking will be available at Saw Mill Pond. Restroom is available nearby. Drinking water is available at water spigot. Path to program is pavement and concrete sidewalk. Kayak/canoe launch is rough terrain with unlevel ground and tree roots.

Bring Your Own Kayak!* Canoes are also available for rent on a first come first serve basis from 8:15a - 3:00p. Canoe rentals will need to be rented for the "5 hour" time frame starting at 9:30a to participate in the full trail/program.

Program Expectations: THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER PADDLING CLASS! Program will consist of a brief overview on paddling, instruction presentation on what to expect, and a MANDATORY safety portion. After instructions, one ranger will lead a guide through the 8.8 mile round trip Hell's Half Acre Paddling Trail, and another ranger with be the "caboose" to make sure no one gets lost. Expect the possibility of getting wet so bring clothes and shoes you do not mind getting wet. Bring plenty of water and snacks to keep you hydrated and fueled.
When: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

What to bring:
- Kayak/Canoe/Paddle/Lifejacket/etc.
- Plenty of Water
- Sunscreen/Hat/Sunglasses
- Bug Spray
- Water shoes/boots
- Clothes you do not mind getting wet
Program is included in park entry fees- $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. No need to register, just show up! Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Caddo Lake State Park Facebook page or you can call park headquarters.
