Park after Dark at Penn Farm
Sat, July 20, 2024
Join our staff for a moon-lit evening at Penn Farm as we explore some of our park's most mysterious residents.
After night falls, a whole new world emerges at Cedar Hill State Park, full of wonders and mysteries.
Though often ignored in favor to their butterfly cousins, moths are far more numerous and diverse than their day-flying kin, pollinating countless flowers and supporting our local ecosystems in ways we are just barely starting to understand. Come gather around our mothing stations to meet and learn about some of Cedar Hill's most mysterious residents!
While waiting for our fluttering friends to arrive, take a guided walk around the historic Penn Farm. Use a blacklight to spot the eerie glow of scorpions prowling the trails, and listen for the call of nocturnal birds like owls and the elusive Chuck-will's-widow!
