Agaves & The Animals That Love Them
Sat, June 13, 2026
Come hear about the strange life cycle of agaves and the animals that depend on them.
Agaves are native to arid regions of the Americas, evolving for the characteristics of their ecoregions. This adaption results in a fairly long life ending in an all consuming bloom. A range of animals have co-evolved with the agave to take advantage of their unique resources. Join us for a casual ramble through the world of the agave and its partners. After a talk & slideshow, we'll walk along the park roads to observe agave in bloom.
