Strawberry Moon Hike

Enjoy the beautiful full moon as it rises over the Davis Mountains on this short hike.

Full moons are special anywhere, but they are especially beautiful seen from the Scenic Overlook here at DMSP. Come join us on this easy hike along part of Skyline Drive Trail as we head up to the Keesey Canyon Overlook. Along the way, we'll share interesting stories and moon lore. Please keep in mind the terrain here is rocky and uneven. 

Meet: at the Scenic Overlook parking lot (first turnoff as you drive up Skyline Drive - make sure to refer to the park map or ask a staff member for directions)

Bring: sturdy shoes, water, binoculars, camera, hiking poles (if needed)

Cost: free for campers, Indian Lodge guests, or day users w/ permit - daily entrance fee is $6.00/adult, or free for the carload with Texas State Park Pass
