Marfa Bird Club @ DMSP
Sat, September 27, 2025
Want to meet other birders in our neck of the woods? Come join this new(ish), local birding club as they explore our great park.
Birding can be intimidating at first. The hundreds of species, different calls & songs, slight variations in color...it can be overwhelming! It's much more fun to dip your toe in with other newbies.
This bird walk will start at the Interpretive Center bird blind then meander through the park towards the Emory Oak bird blind equaling @ 1 mile.
Marfa Bird Club is an inclusive, low impact, low fidelity, loosely formed group of people that watch birds living in and migrating through the Chihuahuan Desert. They aim to provide free community, connection, and access to people of the rural Trans-Pecos region of Texas.
This event is open to locals or guests of the park.
Meet: Interpretive Center
Bring: Walking shoes, water, hat, sunscreen, binoculars
Cost: Free for campers, Indian Lodge guests, or day users. Daily entrance fee is $6.00/adult, or free for the carload with Texas State Park Pass
***Please see our current program flyers posted throughout the park, and on our Facebook page and Instagram page to confirm what programs are happening during your visit.
