Morning Ranger Hike
Join Ranger Charlie on a brisk, morning hike up either Skyline Drive or CCC Trail. Along the way, he'll share info on plants, animals, geology, and history.
The Davis Mountains are considered a sky island, an elevated area of grasslands and mountains situated within the Chihuahuan Desert. Sitting at 5,000+ feet, this oasis provides a great habitat for many plants and animals. Meet Ranger Charlie at the Interpretive Center for a hike along either Skyline Drive or CCC Trail (total distance = 2 miles) to hear all about what makes this place so special (plants, animals, geology, history, life in a small town).
Meet: At the Interpretive Center
Bring: Walking shoes, water, hat, sunscreen, binoculars (if you have a pair)
Cost: Free for campers, Indian Lodge guests, or day users. Daily entrance fee is $6.00/adult, or free for the carload with Texas State Park Pass
