Dinosaur Valley is happy to announce we will be partnering with Girl Scouts Love State Parks again!
Calling all girl scouts! September 19th, 2026, Dinosaur Valley will be hosting programs to celebrate Girl Scouts Love State Parks! Take a look at some of the details below:
Date: September 19, 2026
Cost: Anyone 13 or older who can show an affiliation with the GSA (via vest, t-shirt, troop number, etc.) will receive free entry into the park, no reservation required. Children 12 and younger already receive free entry to all Texas State Parks. Entry fees will be waived until 12PM for participants, regular fees apply to anyone entering the park after.
Parking: Parking will be limited the morning of this event. We recommend carpooling with your group if possible. We also recommend arriving early to allow time to stop at Headquarters and obtain your vehicle permit, find a parking space, grab your water, and head to the Dino Models.
Programs:
- 9AM- Welcome and overview of the day!
- 9:30AM, 10:30AM, 11:30AM - Track Talk at Main Track Site

At this stationary program we'll discuss the dinosaur tracks, the dinosaurs that made them, and a bit of the geologic history of the park.

- 9:30AM, 10:10AM, 10:50AM, 11:30AM - Archery in the Park
- Spots are limited and registration is required. Participants will register at the dino models between 8:45a.m. - 9:20a.m. OR until spots fill up.
- Age requirement: 9 years and older.

- Skins and Skulls
- Art in the Park
- Self-Guided Bird Bingo Hike
**ALL GIRL SCOUTS PARTICIPANTS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH HQ BY 12PM FOR FREE ENTRY. REGULAR FEES APPLY AFTER 12PM.**
Additional Evening Programs
- 7PM - Marvel at the Moon at the amphitheater
- Celebrate international observe the moon night by observing the moon up close with a telescope.
- 9PM - Insect Extravaganza! at the amphitheater
- Step into Dinosaur Valley after dark and explore the park under UV black lights! Visit 5–6 glowing stations to discover the secret lives of nocturnal critters—moths, beetles, spiders, and more.
Each participant must be accompanied by a caregiver at all times.
You are welcome to come and go at each program. A ranger will be leading each activity and is happy to guide groups to each location.
Restrooms, water refill station, and shaded picnic tables are all available at the Day Use Areas for all visitors.
