Fly Fishing 101 at Sea Center Texas

Learn the basics of Fly Fishing at this fun FREE clinic!

This free class is designed to introduce people ages 10 and up to the sport of fly fishing using fun, hands-on activities. Topics will include safety and ethics, how fly fishing compares with conventional rod and reel fishing, fly rods/reels/lines/flies, two useful knots for fly fishing, casting instruction and tying a simple fly. If conditions permit, there may be a chance to cast to saltwater fish at Sea Center Texas.

Dress appropriately for the weather, and plan to spend half the time outdoors. Please bring water and snacks and a lunch to eat on site, and wear sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.

All educational materials and equipment will be provided.

This class is designed for adults and youth ages 10 and up. Youth must be accompanied by an adult at all times - no drop-offs, please.
