Become a Texas Parks and Wildlife Certified Fly Fishing Instructor This free workshop is open to anyone 18 or older with fly fishing experience who is interested in learning ways to teach fly fishing skills in their communities. Participants are required to have fly fishing experience and bring their own fly rod, with complete line setup. Additionally, preregistration is required. See registration link below.
The workshop offers the participant support and tools for fly fishing teaching methods on topics like casting, aquatic ecology, habitat, equipment, flies, safety and ethical fishing. After certification, the program provides the curriculum, equipment (where available), materials and support to help volunteers successfully introduce others to fly fishing. Ideal for fishing clubs, teachers, scout, or youth group leaders, after school or camp staff and community volunteers. TEA-approved CPE available for teachers.
