Think all trees look the same in the winter? Think again!
Join a park ranger to learn how to identify trees even without their leaves! Use clues such as bark texture, buds, twigs, seed pods, and overall shape to help distinguish common trees along the trail.
Meet: Swim Beach Parking Lot
Hike Info: This will be a moderately difficult 1-mile round trip hike. Depending on conditions, some areas could be muddy, so use caution.
Audience: Great for all ages!
Bring: Close-toed shoes, water, and your observation skills!
Cost: Free with park admission. $5 per person 13 and up, free for children 12 and under. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.
