Join a park ranger this spring break for a cool guided hike of the Closed Canyon at BBRSP.

Come explore this unique slot canyon that was millions of years in the making! The tall canyon walls make this the perfect hike for nice spring day. Learn about best hiking practices, unique desert ecosystems, and the adventure that waits behind every corner in the Big Bend Region. Leashed pets are allowed. This is a moderate 1.4-mile hike, round trip.

Bring: water, snacks, hiking boots/shoes, and comfortable clothes.

Optional: binoculars, hiking stick, camera, and a map.

Cost: This event is free with park admission, $5 per person 13 and older. Park Admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.

Meet: At the Closed Canyon Trailhead. Closed Canyon is located 22 miles west of the Barton Warnock Visitor Center and 26 miles east of Fort Leaton State Historic Site on River Road, FM 170.

After Hour Passes: You can reserve your pass online here. If you do not reserve your day pass in advance online, you will need to come with exact change or your Texas State Parks Pass to fill out a self-pay envelope in the parking lot of the Barton Warnock Visitor Center or Fort Leaton State Historic Site.
