Desert Sketches will help you leave no trace by making memory drawings in a nature journal or sketch book with a twist - using natural color dye pigment from the Cochineal.
Nature journaling is a great way to take your memories with you in a drawing, watercolor or description of what you see at the Fort Leaton Nature area. Ranger Arian will have all your art supplies. We will be using a natural dye called Cochineal and learn about its impact on the textile world.
When: 10:00 am
Where: Fort Leaton State Historic Site Nature area
What: Bring your own chair or blanket, water bottle, sunscreen and dress for the weather.
Cost: Program is free with your purchase of day use entrance fees, $5.00 for adults, children under 12 are free. You can use your TSPP to waive your entrance fee pass. Obtained passes at the Fort Leaton SHS or Barton Warnock VC.
