Join a ranger for a hike through the Hoodoos, an area rich in history, biodiversity, and geology!

A hike along Hoodoos Trail is a great introduction to the wider Chihuahuan Desert landscape. A variety of cacti and wildflowers provide rich habitat for a number of animal species, set against the backdrop of the Hoodoos formations and the Río Grande valley. Leashed pets allowed. This hike covers a moderate 1.1-mile loop.

Bring: Water, snacks, hiking boots/shoes, and comfortable clothes.

Optional: Binoculars, hiking stick, camera, and a map.

Fee: Free with park entry: $5 for adults, free for children 12-and-under.

Meet: At the Hoodoos Trail Head. Hoodoos Trail is located 22 miles east of the Fort Leaton State Historic Site and 26 miles west of the Barton Warnock Visitor Center on River Road, FM 170.
