How WOOD you use it?
Fri, September 26, 2025
Mesquite is one of the most common woody plants of the Big Bend and has many uses. The Mesquite Bean is a highly utilized product of the tree and can be made into food.
The Mesquite tree is known as the "Tree of Life" by the native people of the Big Bend. Mesquite has had many useful purposes for thousands of years. Join Ranger Arian as we use the mesquite bean to make our own gluten-free flour to bake cookies, make some cold energy drinks or coffee.
