Take a guided hike of the Cinco Tinajas Trail and learn tips for hiking in the Chihuahuan desert!

The high desert can be a very difficult place to hike, but it doesn't have to be out of reach! Pick up some knowledge about hiking in Big Bend Ranch State Park and what makes it different while exploring this desert trail with a ranger.

This is 2.5-mile hike, round trip. Pets are not allowed on this trail.

Bring: Hat, water, snacks, sunscreen, and comfortable clothing.

Difficulty: Moderate

Meet: At the Cinco Tinajas Trailhead. Cinco Tinajas Trail is located in the park's interior, roughly 2 miles before the Sauceda Ranger Station on the Main Park Road.  Follow signs along the main road until you see Cinco Tinajas.

Cost: Free with park admission. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass.

Want to speed up your entry process? Reserve online in advance.
