Star Party at the Fort

The Greater Big Bend International Dark Sky Reserve is the largest in the world and the Star Party at the Fort is a great way to view the darkest skies in Texas.

Star Party at the Fort Leaton is a great way to view the darkest skies in Texas. Being in the Greater Big Bend International Dark Sky Reserve will give you the best opportunity to see celestial bodies and planets with our telescopes and amateur astronomers. 

When:  8:00 pm

Where: Fort Leaton Corral

What: Bring your own chair or blanket, water bottle, and dress for the weather. 

Programs are subject to location changes, postponement, or cancellation due to weather.  Please call our office during operating hours (8:00 AM- 4:30 PM) to check the status of the program.  Check our Instagram or Facebook stories for the most up-to-date information on program details. 

Cost: Program is free with your purchase of day use entrance fees, $5.00 for adults, and children under 12 are free. You can use your TSPP to waive your entrance fee pass. Obtained passes at the Fort Leaton SHS or Barton Warnock VC.
