Honoring Comanche Roots: with Lance Tahmahkera

This program will feature Lance Tahmahkera, a great-great-grandson of Comanche Chief Quanah Parker.

With his parents staying close to Comanche traditions and culture, much of his youth was spent at pow-wows, learning family stories about his ancestors and the ways of the tribe.

During the program, Lance will share stories ranging from the origins of the Comanche, life on the plains and reservation, and the lives of Cynthia Ann and Quanah Parker, to current day events. He will also share children’s stories that have been passed down through his family.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear these stories while viewing tribal clothing and authentic artifacts, and the program will conclude with a Q&A session for participants to ask questions and learn even more about Comanche history and culture.
