Lunch & Learn with a Ranger

Grab your lunch and your curiosity, it’s time for a picnic with a purpose!

Join a Park Ranger for a fun and family-friendly program celebrating International Picnic Day. This event is perfect for kids and kids at heart, as we enjoy lunch together while learning how to pack a perfect trail- or camping-friendly lunch.

What You’ll Learn:

• Smart and safe food choices for hiking or camping
• How to pack your lunch to reduce waste and mess
• The basics of Leave No Trace to help protect nature while you picnic

We’ll enjoy the outdoors and share tips that make every outdoor meal a smart and sustainable one!

Meet: Group Picnic area
Bring: Bring your own lunch, a blanket or chair, and an appetite for fun and learning.
Cost: Included with admission to the park. Park admission is free with a Texas State Park Pass (purchased before event).
