Stitches of 1870

Join our rangers for our monthly sewing program where we’ll create 1870s garments using period inspired patterns and techniques.

It’s perfectly okay if you’re still building your sewing skills. We’ll take it step by step and learn together throughout the series.

This session we will be starting on an full apron. You will need a minimum of 3 yards of fabric. Depending on your size and/or if you want something more roomy, you may want a little more.

*Note: some projects may take multiple sessions to complete.

Things You Should Know:
Meet: Interpretive Building
Bring: Participants will provide their own fabric, thread, and sewing tools
Cost: Attendance to this event is open to the public and free AFTER regular day use or camping fees. Park admission is free with a Texas State Park Pass (purchased before event).
