Basic Fishing

Need the basics for fishing? We've got them!

Limited spots available. Registration is required, and you can do it online!

Fishing is easy. Catching is the hard part. Join us for all the basic skills needed to get to the catching part of fishing. Limited amount of loaner gear is available for use. Bring your own gear if you have it. 

📍 Meet at: Horseshoe Pond (Point of Interest #2 on the trail map)

💲 Cost: $5 for adults, FREE for kids 12 & under
Park entry is included with a valid Texas State Parks Pass

🎒 What to Bring:
Sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, and close-toed shoes.

🧢 What to Expect:

• Intermediate fishing tips made easy for beginners
• Loaner gear available (limited supply) — bring your own if you have it
• Expect sun and water — hats, sunglasses, and clothes you don’t mind getting wet recommended
• Friendly for beginners, great for those ready to improve
• Limited spots — registration is required to participate!
