Spend your holiday season contributing to the nation's longest-running community science bird project!

Now a long-established initiative of the National Audubon Society with over 120 years of community science experience, this early-winter bird census involves thousands of volunteers from across the U.S., Canada (in partnership with Birds Canada), various countries in the Western Hemisphere, and you!

Join us on an exploration to learn basics of birding, identify resident species, and recording our species lists. All skill levels welcome!  

What to Expect:

  • Bring: BUG SPRAY, water, weather appropriate clothing and close-toed shoes that can get wet. 
  • Meet: Observation Tower Parking Lot
  • Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE for children 12 & under. Park entry free with a State Parks Pass.
  • Ranger led program
  • Easy, relaxing hike (0.75 miles) with no shade
  • Wildlife and plants
  • Birds!
